SWCCC participates in 9th Annual Lights-On Afterschool Event
Students and parents look at afterschool projects and activities
ESD 112’s Southwest Washington Child Care Consortium (SWCCC) participated in the 9th Annual Lights-On Afterschool Event on October 16. About 50 families attended the open house event at the SWCCC’s Columbia Valley Child Care Center. Starbucks donated coffee and hot chocolate that was served while the attendees viewed projects and activities that the kids do in the afterschool programs.
The Lights-On Afterschool event is a nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. This event helps to raise awareness about the importance of afterschool programs and the resources required to keep the lights on and the doors open during out-of-school time.
